First in Families of North Carolina is based in Durham, North Carolina, with local chapters located throughout the state. FIFNC is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of supports to the individual's they serve, often partnering with local businesses and agencies to provide sustainable solutions to identified areas of need. A quote from the organization's website states that "examples of supports include computers, home furnishings or modifications, childcare or respite, or repairs to vehicles. Support can also be the connecting of an individual to vocational, social, and educational opportunities in the community; whatever it takes - for people to live and participate fully in their community."
