Local Options

This organization offers a wealth of knowledge, support, and resources to parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The support groups hosted by the Autism Society focus on bringing families together who are experiencing similar joys and challenges. Pictures on the website highlight bowling and restaurant outings enjoyed by support group members and their children. Personal quotes from members echo acceptance and community. The Autism Society of North Carolina has several chapters throughout the state, with one in Pitt County.  A calendar is provided to help organize events occurring throughout the different chapters. 

Virtual Options 

According to the website, "Mommies of Miracles is the world's largest virtual support group for mothers of children who have special health care and/or developmental needs. We offer FREE peer support, networking, resources, helpful tools, family matching, special programs, and various social media sites."
