A Toolkit for Nurturing Your Child and Yourself

  Practical Resources for Parents and

Caregivers of Children with Special Needs

This website emerged from research that focused on providing self-care tools and strategies to parents and caregivers of children with special needs. It was originally developed to address the social, mental, physical, and spiritual needs of parents. The hope is that it will give you, the parent, tools and strategies to manage your parenting journey successfully!  In the process of raising a child who is differently abled, parents often put their health and well-being on the back burner. Staying healthy yourself is vital for your child’s success.

As this website has evolved, we felt it was important to add information on community supports, fun activities for your children, information on policy that affects the resources available for your child, and information to help navigate your child’s education. There is also a planning/ financial section of resources for you to review. Because this website was developed in Greenville, North Carolina, we provide resources for parents and caregivers in that geographic area. However, we have also included a variety of links for across North Carolina, as well as national organizations that may be helpful.

This website is a tribute to ALL parents who are on this special journey with their children. We wish you the best!
